A few weeks ago I graduated from James Madison University Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Technical Communication. I am so excited to bring my expertise in writing and communication to the HeartStone office. I will be using my talents to ensure our clients remain engaged and satisfied with the work that we are providing. This means I will have a variety of tasks around the office, anything from updating our social media to sending out letters or planning events. I am sure you may catch me making coffee runs around town as well!
My love for the financial service industry is certainly not new. Growing up I watched my father and grandfather grow their own financial firm. I knew that I wanted to go into the field from a young age. I remember when I was 12 years old my dad trying to explain the stock market to me as I folded and stuffed mailings. Back then, I called a 401(k) a “401 wonk”! I graduated high school with my eyes set on pursing a degree in finance. My dad, being the smart man he is, saw there was an opportunity for me to bring a new set of skills to our family financial firm. My brother, Zach, was already pursing a financial degree, and my dad explained that we needed someone who was good at writing and talking to people. Hearing this was a huge weight off of my shoulders. I can admit that the finance courses didn’t exactly strike my fancy. Over my four years at JMU I fell in love with writing and communications. I truly am passionate about ensuring people’s needs are met, and I am thrilled that I am able to bring this passion to the financial industry that I grew up in.
Being a part of the Matarazzo family, I’m sure it does not come as a surprise that I love being in the outdoors in my free time. I enjoy hiking, biking and fishing in the summers and in the winter you can usually find me on the Benny Up trail. I also love giving back to my community and I hope to bring this love for service to HeartStone Advisors by planning events where we are able to engage with and serve the Whitefish community.
I look forward to getting to know you all more personally in the coming months. Until then, keep an eye out for me around town or on the trails! Cheers!
